The new jack-up rig "HAKURYU-12" departed from Singapore on March 17, and sailed around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. After the loading of materials and equipment necessary to the operation at Trinidad and Tobago, she finally arrived to offshore Suriname in South America on May 8.
Afterwards, she started the drilling operation based on the contract with TOS on May 14.

JDC has started the drilling operation for methane hydrate boring survey using Deep-sea Drilling Vessel "Chikyu" (Owner: Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology) at offshore eastern coast of India based on the contract with ONGC.
JDC has started the operation of new jack-up rig "HAKURYU-12" utilizing leasing scheme * with the rig owner, Maple Maritime S.A. (Maple), a subsidiary of BOT Lease Co., Ltd (BOTL).
(* Agreed on December 12, 2014, between Maple as lessor and Japan Drilling (Netherlands) B.V., a subsidiary of JDC as lessee.)
The rig was originally ordered by BOTL at PPL Shipyard Pte Ltd in Singapore and was transferred to Maple right after its completion and delivery to BOTL from the shipyard on Feb. 9, 2015.
